Don's Testimony : The Recovery Group has allowed me to grow further in my spiritual life and strengthen relationships between family and friends. It allows me to control my addictions and character defects by sharing with others in the group. We find support and encouragement from each other and become accountable to our Lord Jesus Christ and to ourselves. After struggling for years I have found a faith based program that allows me to give my problems to the Lord.
Maria's Testimony : Hi everyone:
On May 15, 2009 at 5:30 a.m. my husband was getting ready to go to work and I was doing the finances.
We were going about our day, but before my husband went off to work I asked him for the bank’s login information no big deal so I thought, well I forgot it. I decided to call him around 6:37 a.m. and at the other side of the phone all I heard was call the cops I just had a car accident.
I remember asking him the location and if he was hurt. Personally, I did not believe him because he always tries to shield me from any worries.
Well, once I was done speaking to the officer an overwhelming feeling of wordiness came over me. Suddenly I stopped myself from going crazy and I began to pray. During my prayer the first thought that came to mind was one of Pastor Rob sermon when he was teaching us that God worries for us and to trust God with everything we do in life.
Just remembering the word of God and his promise brought me great comfort to a very chaotic situation. My mind was clear and I began to make arrangements with two of my wonderful neighbors to help me with my kids.
To make a long story short, my husband’s accident was very bad that when the EMT’s arrived they just took my husband to the hospital and was left me behind to deal with the FHP.
Finally, my husband was released from the hospital couple of hours after arriving. He did not have one scratch on him, only a headache which went away days later.
By the Grace of God, his faith, and the bible I decided to put behind his seat when he first purchased his car was what saved my husband life.
I hope our personal story help those who might have a chaotic situation. Just put your faith and trust to the Lord and everything will be alright. Amen
carla's Testimony : when i first came to the recovery group I did not know if i belonged. my husband had just left me and my son for the forth time.he was emotionaly.and physically abuseive in the past and had a drug problem. left me and my son with two stores to take care of that eventually failed because the economy.he diddnt pay the taxes and i was over worked.one by one they closed, i was very angry person but i kept my faith ,today I got baptized,because of my faith,after i was baptized i came home and made lunch for my son....and the phone rang to the answering machine and i looked at the number and it was my husbands number ,so i listened to the message and it was a girl makeing sexual noises .well words cannot describe how i felt but you know what i might be sad and broken but i have my faith and god will get me through this just like he:sallways carried me through every thing else i am not angry at god any more .i asked god along time ago to take the bad out of my life and he did that for me . and i am gratefull thats how good god is i just didnt realize it but i do now. now i just have to work on makeing my heart stop hurting so i would be really gratefull if all of you could say a prayer for me and nicholas, thanks god and the support group I can see now my eyes are open
